Sunday morning was the first day to head into the parks. We chose the Magic Kingdom. Maybe because it was the first of the WDW parks but more so because it is a great tradition to do as a family. We woke and left the Marriott by 815am and drove to the Polnesian where we stored our bags. Steve got his family all set up with their Magic Bands. By this time, Joe Joe was heading to the airport to start his trip to Orlando.
We boarded the Monorail and headed into the Magic Kingdom. After getting some help from the Town Hall people we began our stroll down Main Street toward a first ride for us....The Seven Dwarves (Dwarps) Mine Train. This was a great ride that really put a smile on everyone's face! We headed to Tomorrowland which included some Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin where Jordan and I teamed up to take down the evil galactic Emperor, Zurg which moonlights as a Christmas Elf at the Murray household. Not sure how he does it!
Jack and I teamed up on Autotopia racing the cars as we followed Jake and Matty with with Jillian and Jen following our tail. A few words about Jack's driving ability...it won't matter because self driving cars will be around when he is old enough to drive!

After a great lunch at Cosmic Ray's where Jack waked up to some other family...."Hey guys!" We enjoyed the park a bit more with Pirates which is always great. Headed back to our room to officially check in and get ready for the evening. We all got ready and headed to EPCOT where Joe Joe met with us at Test Track.
Dinner plans were in a bit of flux but we ate at the counter service at Mexico and enjoyed a bit of the evening there. Jordan, Jillian, Jake and I headed back into the Magic Kingdom and we road the Space Orbiter in the dark during wishes which gave us an awesome view of the night sky. It was funny seeing Jake and Jen in the same car as Jake is a pretty big dude now. Then we hopped on a nighttime Jungle Cruise except Jordan had to go to the bathroom. That is code for "there was a huge big bug" on a poll which didn't sit to well with her. It was late, we were tired and we had a HUGE first full day.Seeing the Magic Kingdom at night is amazing. The lighting is simply amazing.

That night Papa, Grandma, and i had dinner at the rotating restaurant in The Land. It was a character dinner, and I think we were the only booth without children. Nonetheless, we met Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey. The dinner was excellent. Family style. Bread and a salad with a southwestern flavor. Then our entrees and sides all on a huge platter: thinly sliced steak with mashed potatoes abd a red- wine sauce/gravy, sausage and peppers, and turkey with dressing and gravy. Dessert was a pound cake with whipped cream with Vanilla bean, strawberries and blueberries. Well worth the characters!
